AGRI CAMP Conducted Trainings for Tavush Cooperatives

The months of November and December 2024 were very eventful for the AGRI CAMP Program. Among numerous other activities, training courses were conducted for the “Borderland Farmers,” “Source of Income,” “Gasayi 1,” and “Garunk” cooperatives in the Tavush marz, which are beneficiaries of the UMCOR Armenia Foundation. The foundation provided technical support to these cooperatives.

The training topics were selected based on the needs of the local communities and cooperative members, aiming to support participants in expanding their businesses by introducing them to innovative agricultural methods and fostering soft skills development.

Thanks to the diligent work and professional approach of our skilled experts, more than 19 individuals enriched their knowledge and acquired skills in applying innovative methods in agriculture.

From November 22 to 24, in the Aygehovit community of the Tavush region, AGRI CAMP, in collaboration with UMCOR Armenia, organized a three-day training on “Innovative Agriculture,” covering the following topics:

  • “Animal Husbandry with Innovative Technologies” presented by David Navasardyan and Arman Ohanyan.
  • “Farm Business Exercises” presented by Sargis Mkrtchyan and Hasmik Makaryan. This topic was developed in cooperation with the German Sparkassenstiftung Armenia (DSIK). During the training, farmers were divided into groups to “manage” their agribusinesses under various scenarios, calculating costs, benefits, and cash flows.
  • «Soft Skills Development», facilitated by Lilit Asatryan.
  • “Combatting Human Trafficking in Armenia”, presented by Robert Grigoryan.

From December 23 to 25, our experts visited the Sevqar community in the Tavush marz, where the following trainings were conducted:

  • “Animal Husbandry with Innovative Technologies”, presented by David Navasardyan and Arman Ohanyan;
  • “Intensive Orchard Management Characteristics”, presented by expert Gevorg Harutyunyan;
  • “Combatting Human Trafficking in Armenia”, presented by Robert Grigoryan;
  • “Farm Business Exercises”, led by Hasmik Makaryan and Lusine Hovhannisyan.

The AGRI CAMP Program’s trainings are typically characterized by interactivity and a friendly atmosphere, enabling farmers to quickly engage and effectively absorb new knowledge. This is evidenced by feedback from participants. The latter helps the Program’s experts continuously improve the thematic training sessions.
