Expansion of Armenian dried fruit production

Khachatur Grigoryan started his dried fruit production activity by drying the crop of his own orchard in the Abovyan community of Ararat region. Later, the farmer established a family agribusiness․  The farmer produces dried fruits under the “ArmFruit” brand.

In order to develop and expand agribusiness, ArmFruit established a dried fruit factory in Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan in 2019, as well as purchased the necessary equipment (refrigerators, two dryer machines, solar dryers). In 2021, ArmFruit partially invested in the expansion of the business – acquired another dryer machine and carried out construction work to expand the outdoor dryer.

In order to increase the volume of production the farmer would like to obtain one more dryer machine to increase the volume of finished dried fruit production.

With the support of the USAID-funded AGRI CAMP Program, the dried fruit production unit is now equipped with new fruit dryer machine (with the capacity of 1800 kg of fresh fruit per drying time). In addition, the Company renovated the production unit and acquired a slicing machine.

After equipping the production with fruit dryer machine, as of June 30, 2022, the Company have created extra 5 permanent workplaces.

Moreover, the Company currently produces new varieties։

  • Dried fruits (Mango, Grapefruit, Pineapple);
  • Dried greens (Astrodaucus (mandak), Falcaria (sibekh).
